Common misconceptions about millennials are that we text all the time, that we are a violent generation, but because some kids are does not mean the rest are. Another one is that we are rude. Stereotypes just label people, we are labeled as loud, rude and busy. It is a good thing a lot of the people in our generation are different, but people generally judge people by their cloths and hair and all their outer looks.
Generations are a time period when some one is born. Other generations are traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X’ers, and the millenials, each generation has their own traits. Traditionalists are loyal, Baby Boomers are optimistic, X’ers is skeptic and millenials are realistic. Millennial are submerged into technology from the time they are born with baby monitors to TV’s to phones, it is unavoidable to not be immersed in technology in the USA. Schools are getting more and more advanced, with smart boards, computers in every room, things like that. There is a lot of pressure in our generation to fit in, get good grades, and be healthy. Also there is driving and college. Millennials are good at a lot of things, but we are not more skilled than other generations, except technology. We are very good at technology, because we grew up with it.
Millennials are different; we have a totally different mind set, we need work and play if we work we get rewarded by play. We are determined, we are fun loving, we like to work with people we like. We are more open to new things, like hair dye, piercings, and etcetera. Each generation has their own characteristics, and millennials are defined by, millenials are defined by being hard workers, but they have to have a equal of play and work. I think that millennials are a good, and people should not judge us to much.
