Will Ross
Our generation is just impatient; we even invented names for it like attention deficit disorder. I don’t remember A.D.D being around when our parents were in school. That’s not to say it’s not a disability in the classroom, I just think a lot less kids that had it. It’s contagious and two hundred years from now if the world is still around, everyone will have it. What our generation is mastering is the ability to excuse. We have a reason justifying everything we do. A boy forgets to read: “he must have dyslexia” a girl didn’t do her homework: “She must have auditory processing problems”. We have actually created a prescription for laziness.
While our generation has lots of flaws and problems we have eliminated many others. We have much less racism, are a lot less excluding and we are problem solvers. We think outside of the box. Our generation is more creative than ever before and for example you tell we are making more movies with greater effects that we have never had before. We can literally make an entire movie on a computer. We are a generation that can just go with the flow; we not only accept change we welcome it.What I say is don’t let your generation define you, define your generation. Be yourself. It’s simple, do what makes you happy. Don’t do what everybody is doing; be your own generation. If you can find something that makes you happy whether it’s playing a sport, or going to a concert, it doesn’t matter what generation you’re from. As long as you can sleep happy at night that’s all that truly matters.
